First birthdays are so fun to capture! Not only is it an important milestone for your child, but you deserve to be celebrated too. You made it through the first year!
WHAT TYPE OF SESSION SHOULD YOU BOOK?
You have options!
MINI
I offer 15-minute mini sessions year round! Some are themed or in a studio, but most are outdoors at a local park. You can book a mini just to get pictures of your one year old, or we can do a mix of family and individual portraits! Because this is a short session, there is not enough time for props, outfit changes, or cake but it's a great option if you want something quick and simple to mark the occasion! INDIVIDUAL
This is a 30-minute session, and you get to choose the date, time, and location! There is room to incorporate an outfit change, props, or a cake smash if you want. Photos are only of your toddler though. I follow them around and capture all of their little quirks and expressions! A studio can be reserved for an additional fee. 20+ photos included!

FAMILY
My custom family session is also perfect for capturing a first birthday! You get some family pictures, individuals of your birthday star, and lots of candids. We can likely incorporate props or a quick outfit change too, just let me know ahead of time. You get to choose the date, time, and location, and sessions yield 30+ images.

WHAT TO BRING
WATER & SNACKS
DO NOT automatically bring out food (please). But it can be helpful to have a snack with you if we need a quick bribe or distraction. I recommend cheerios, goldfish, puffs, or marshmallows. Avoid snacks that may cause your kids to drool (like fruit snacks) or ones that melt (like M&Ms).
A NEUTRAL BLANKET
I almost always have a blanket with me, but you're welcome to bring your own if you want any photos sitting down in the grass.
BIBS, WIPES, TISSUES AND/OR BURP CLOTHS
If your little one is prone to drooling a lot, keep something handy to keep them dry. Same goes for kids with a runny nose.
CAKE SMASH
Cakes and props are totally optional. But if you'd like to set up any props or incorporate a cake smash, let me know ahead of time as some locations aren't practical for them.
You will be responsible for bringing the following items to assist with cleanup:
Wipes
Paper towels or wash cloths (hand towels work too)
Plastic bag for trash
A blanket or tablecloth that can get icing on it
Extra set of clothes (optional)
Cake stand or topper (optional)
Water
And don't forget the cake!
When I'm working in a local park, it's important to me not to leave any trace (including icing). If you need me to bring any of these items, just let me know!
PROPS
Balloons can be fun! But I'll ask you not to do any numbered balloons. (I love them in theory, but they're one of the hardest things to photograph next to an unpredictable toddler. They spin around too much, and they often catch my reflection which is hard to edit out. Thanks for understanding!)
Feel free to bring a small chair, rocking horse, high chair, etc. for your child to sit on. I usually have a small stool with me, but I love to incorporate items you have too!
